This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It covers jerseycitycarrentals.com, our booking and payment pages, and our communications with you by phone, text, WhatsApp, email and social media. Your rental agreement also applies to your rental, along with this policy.

By using our website or renting from us, you agree to this policy.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We don’t share it for targeted advertising either, except as described in Section 5. We share it only as follows:

Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties for their marketing.

5. Vehicle location, cookies and analytics

Vehicle location and telematics. Our vehicles have GPS or telematics devices. They can record location, mileage, speed and vehicle condition during your rental. We use this data to recover lost or stolen vehicles, check mileage and fuel, investigate accidents or misuse, and enforce your rental agreement. We do not use it to track you for marketing.

Cookies and analytics. Our website uses cookies and similar tools to keep it working, remember your preferences, and measure visits. We use Google Analytics to see how people find and use the site. We may use Google tags to measure our ads. These providers may collect information about your visits across different websites.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. To opt out of Google Analytics, use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. You can adjust ad settings in your Google account settings. 6. Retention, security and children

How long we keep it. We keep rental records, signed agreements and payment records for 7 years for tax, insurance and legal reasons. We may keep them longer while a claim, toll or ticket is still open. We delete or anonymize license photos and screening results 12 months after your last rental, unless we need them for an open matter. If you only contacted us and never booked, we delete your inquiry after 24 months.

Security. We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), password-protected accounts with two-step login, and access limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach affects you, we will notify you as New Jersey law requires.

Children. Our services are for adults who meet our minimum rental age of 21. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Your choices and rights

Text messages. If you agree to receive texts, we send booking confirmations, pickup and return reminders, and, only if you opt in, offers. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Agreeing to marketing texts is never a condition of renting.

Email. Use the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email. We will still send messages about your active rentals.
